<reviewbody>I've just downloaded this release and i'm still flickering through the tracklisting so i'll try to get this review straight to the point.
This is to net audio what Artificial Intelligence or Clicks and Cuts 1 were to electronic music: a manifest.
Besides anyone promoting Ruxpin tracks, a personal fav of mine, desserves 5 stars.
I'm amazed, really.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>I really loved the first Intelligent toys, which was a bit of a '' best of '' netaudio compilation, including one of my all time favorite netaudio track, k.a.b.y.n. by Sleepy town manufacture, lackluster's classic Thor's magic bathtub, and khonnor's cantelopps ( which i released on apegenine volume 1 ). This time around, Sutemos still sucessfully compiled many of today's netaudio superstars; sleepy town manufacture, sabi, sense, maps and diagrams and lackluster, and many more. I was quite hyped up to see the list of contributors. As i pressed play and listened to the first notes of marsen jule's opener ' brouillard ', i was definitely happy to have downloaded the 200 and some megabytes; though thematically maybe not the best release to have started the compilation with, it is by far the best and most engaging piece. It has great depth and character with its sweeping, noisy pads and leads. As i listen to the compilation, i feel that most tracks are there to '' fill in '' between the great tracks. While all tracks have great quality, most of them seem to be made in a hurry, or exploring tired clichés of electronic music. Sleepy town manufacture's tracks sadly follow this path; 'restrained ambitions' sounds like he tried to remake k.a.b.y.n. but it is uneventful and uses of tired techniques from the late 90's electronic boom, STM's second track on the compil 'O Nei' is rather compelling in its opening minute but quickly becomes bland.
Two other tracks really grabbed my attention on this compil, the first is Praveen's 'Vespers', a beautiful hip-hop piece with airy pianos and strings and Sabi's grandiose ' Uki Reflection '. Other stand out tracks are sense's somewhat comedic ' Oh yeah Baby ' , maps and diagram's beautiful 'siaptik', Unit21's 'Yellow' and ' O nei remix' and Lackluster's 080598. In my opinion, if these were the only tracks on the compilation it would be one of the best netaudio releases of all time. But as it is right now, it is a compilation of mediocre tracks amidst a few great ones.</reviewbody>
